What's an "arrest grantee?"
An arrest grantee is an organization or group of organizations that receives funds from the Office on Violence Against Women's Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies and Enforce Protection Orders. Communities that receive these grants are working to establish or improve a coordinated criminal justice response to domestic violence cases. These funds support efforts by prosecutors, probation officers, law enforcement agencies, advocates, and the courts to enhance victim safety and offender accountability. How do I register for a BWJP conference or training?
Your office should have received a conference packet with a registration
form. You may also print a registration form from the BWJP website.
You must fill out the form, including your grant number, and fax or mail
it to BWJP. Starting January 2006, you will be able to register for
conferences on-line on the BWJP website.
You must have your grant number to register for any BWJP conferences.
You may find your grant number by calling your OVW program manager or
your OVW liaison (the person in your office who handles your grant). Who is my OVW program manager?
OVW program managers oversee the money your office received from OVW/Department
of Justice. To identify your program manager, call OVW at
1-800-458-0786. How many BWJP events can I attend?
BWJP does not limit the number of conferences individuals may attend. How many people in my organization can attend an event?
Each conference is different. Please refer to conference materials.
Not if your organization receives an OVW grant. Do I have to pay for room and board?
Allowable expenses can be covered by your OVW funds. BWJP frequently
covers some meals; these meals will be indicated on your confirmation
notice. How do I make hotel reservations?
Do not make hotel reservations until you have been confirmed by BWJP
to attend the event. When BWJP confirms your registration, you will
receive hotel information. Can I cancel my registration? How?
Yes, by calling or emailing BWJP. However, you must cancel your hotel
reservation on your own.
Check with your OVW program manager. Do I have to stay at the event hotel?
It is preferable that you stay at the event hotel, since BWJP will have
reserved hotel rooms at the government per diem rate. If you have
extenuating circumstances, please contact BWJP. |
