(February 2006) Sacred Circle Announcement

Sacred Circle has recently announced its training schedule for calendar year 2006. The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) has decided that its tribal grantees may use funds from their training and technical assistance set-aside to cover costs associated with attending Sacred Circle training events. This means that you do not need to request prior permission from your OVW Program Manager before using the travel funds to attend Sacred Circle trainings.

(November 2005) OVW cannot clear any travel expenditures over the federally-published per diem rates.  For more information on federal per diem rates, please visit the U.S. General Services Administration.

(September 2005) Filing progress reports and financial status reports:

The Office of Justice Programs instituted a policy regarding the late filing of progress reports and financial status reports. The form for Categorical Assistance Progress Reports can be found at the link below. As of June 30, 2002, the Office of Justice Programs will freeze the release of funds until grantees are current in the filing of all progress reports and financial status reports. Additionally, VAWA 2000 requires grant recipients themselves to report on the effectiveness of their activities to the Attorney General who, in turn, must report to Congress every two years. (paraphrased from a July 18, 2002, letter from Diane Stuart).

For more information, contact your OVW program manager or download forms from the U.S. Department of Justice.
