In this presentation Nicole Westmarland of Durham University describes how Project Mirabal, a multi-site longitudinal study of domestic violence perpetrator programs in the UK, consulted widely with relevant stakeholders to develop six new measures of success. These measures of success were then operationalized through the research. Results were striking in relation to reductions in physical and sexual violence. Reductions were also found in relation to coercion, control, and harassment although not to the same extent. Findings around children, fathering, communication, and self-awareness are also discussed.
