The faculty reviewed the research demonstrating the links between experiencing domestic violence with increased risk for suicide and suicidality (attempts and ideation) among women in the US and globally, and also addressed the increased risk for homicide of battered women followed by suicide of a male partner. Dr. Campbell included a short presentation of her own research findings among abused African American women related to suicidality and the safety strategies used with those women in response to suicidality. Dr. Cerulli discussed the domestic violence suicide hotline project with the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
