This webinar addresses the results of an analysis of couples interviewed as part of the larger "Relationships and PTSD: Detection of Intimate Partner Violence" study of veterans in treatment for PTSD, and their intimate partners. The couples demonstrate unique dynamics that aggravate conflict and distress and interfere with communication and conflict resolution, especially when PTSD and IPV exist together. Additional implications for responding to identified IPV, minimizing destructive relationship patterns, and facilitating communication and mutuality in the relationship are discussed.
