As the national resource center on the criminal and civil justice systems’ response to intimate partner violence, BWJP staff are experienced in consulting with individuals, agencies, and communities.

BWJP has the breadth and depth of experience to offer on intimate partner violence and related intervention issues, especially those involving the development of complex multi-disciplinary and multi-agency initiatives that account for the power relationships between victims and offenders, and among the intervening agencies. Communities, programs, and individuals are welcome to draw on the knowledge and experience of BWJP staff to assist them in solving problems with their current practices or in planning new project initiatives. Limited consultations are available at no cost. Reasonable fees are charged for more extensive consultations.

BWJP provides consultation and problem-solving services at no cost to OVW Improving Criminal Justice Responses (formerly Arrest) grantees as part of our technical assistance to those communities. These activities are often covered under OVW grants or other local funding. Depending on the scope of the consultation, costs may be covered under an existing BWJP technical assistance grant.

Contact BWJP for further information on funding available to support more time-intensive consultation requests.
