Phillip Burse, from In Our Own Voices, a thriving community organization who were working for justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people particularly in communities of color in the wider Albany, New York area, and Jaclyn Dechiro, from Equinox, a mainstream community-based domestic violence agency, discuss how their agencies developed a strong partnership with shared goals. They describe their projects, what they have learned about domestic violence in LGBTQ communities, and what work must continue to be addressed by government and community agencies in order to respond to the lived experiences of a diverse and often marginalized community.
